Palestinians Firebomb Israeli Family in West Bank; Parents, 3 Children Wounded

Palestinians hurled a firebomb at the vehicle of an Israeli couple that was driving with their three children in the West Bank on Friday, The Jerusalem Post reported. Both parents and all three kids were wounded, with the youngest, a four-year-old girl, sustaining moderate injuries.

Palestinian terrorists hurled a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli vehicle traveling on Route 60 on Friday evening, causing burn injuries to five Israeli civilians: A four-year-old girl, an 11-year-old girl, a 44-year-old woman, a man whose age has yet to be determined, and a boy.

Magen David Adom paramedic evacuated the five victims to the Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem.

Paramedics said the four-year-old is in moderate condition, while the other girl, the boy, the man, and the woman suffered light wounds in the firebombing of their vehicle.

Earlier on Friday, a Palestinian stabbed an Israeli soldier in the back as he was opening a gate to allow farmers to cross the West Bank security barrier. The assailant was shot in the foot and arrested.

On Thursday, an 18-year-old Israeli man was moderately wounded after he was stabbed by two Palestinian terrorists near a synagogue in Beit Shemesh. The Palestinians, one of whom was a known Hamas operative, had tried to board a bus filled with schoolchildren before the attack but were rebuffed by alert passersby. Both terrorists were reportedly wearing undershirts with the emblems of Hamas’ armed wing, known as the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

Also Thursday, two Palestinians unsuccessfully attempted to stab a soldier in Hebron, charging at him with knives before he repelled their attack and fired into the air. The two quickly fled the scene and were chased by security forces.

On Wednesday, an IDF soldier was severely wounded in a stabbing attack north of Jerusalem while five other soldiers were injured, two moderately, in a car ramming attack along a major roadway in the West Bank. The Palestinian assailants in both incidents were shot. CCTV footage of the car ramming is embedded below.

On Wednesday evening, terrorists in Gaza fired a rocket that struck open territory between Beersheba and Ashkelon. No injuries were reported.

This spate of attacks is the latest in a wave of Palestinian violence that experts attribute to incitement, particularly over the Temple Mount complex, which houses the al-Aqsa mosque. Palestinians believe that Israel is attempting to change the status quo at the site, though non-Muslim prayer remains forbidden and non-Muslim visiting hours are limited. Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have repeatedly denied the charges and condemned Palestinian incitement to violence.

According to Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Magen David Adom medical emergency service reports that 10 Israelis have been killed and 112 wounded, 11 seriously, between October 1st – October 20th. An additional 64 individuals were treated for shock. As of Thursday, the IDF recorded 40 stabbings, four shootings, and five car ramming attacks.
