Sudan Officials Lash Out Against Israel

Sudanese officials are continuing to lash out against Israel for mysterious explosions that destroyed a Sudanese weapons factory earlier this week. Khartoum is insisting that the factory was bombed by Israel’s air force, a charge that Israeli officials have yet to comment on. McClatchy news service did, however, quote Israeli officials on Thursday confirming that the Israeli military has been disrupting terror activity in Sudan for several years. Sudan has been listed as a state sponsor of terrorism by the U.S. State Department since 1993, is a close ally of Iran, and serves as a pipeline for Iranian weapons traveling into Africa and the Near East. Israel has repeatedly expressed concerns about Sudan’s role in providing weapons to Hamas which are then used to target Israeli civilians.
