Reports of a mysterious explosion inside Iran’s underground nuclear bunker at Fordow – where the regime has installed more than 2,000 centrifuges to enrich uranium – are increasing in tempo despite Iranian denials. The news comes after several weeks in which American and European officials issued unusually blunt statements condemning Tehran for stalling on talks designed to address the international community’s concerns regarding Iran’s atomic program. Iranian officials in recent weeks have also issued multiple statements insisting that the regime will continue to enrich uranium in defiance of efforts to defuse the diplomatic crisis, and late last week reports emerged that Iran has the capacity to quadruple its enrichment activities specifically at Fordow.
