News is slowly leaking out of Iran regarding the brutal anti-Semitic murder and mutilation of a Jewish woman in the Iranian city of Isfhahan. The Times of Israel reports that 57 year old Tuba N. was murdered by Muslim neighbors who, as part of a multi-year campaign to harass her family and confiscate the family’s property for a mosque, broke into her home, tied up her two sisters, repeatedly stabbed her to death, butchered her body, and cut off her hands as members of her family watched. Allegations like those of Tuba N.’s religiously-driven murder and mutilation, which come alongside other descriptions of religiously-motivated persecution of Iranian minorities, have been difficult to reconcile with reports published by some journalists describing Iranian Jews as living in peace and security.
