Israel has successfully tested its newest advanced missile defense system, David’s Sling. Tthe system is designed to intercept medium and long-range missiles with ranges of 40 km to 300 km. It will supplement Israel’s short-range Iron Dome system, which had unprecedented success during last week’s Operation Pillar of Defense. David’s Sling is based on radar and other technology already implemented in Iron Dome, and is expected come online by 2015.
