All-Star Draymond Green of NBA Champion Golden State Warriors Visits Israel

NBA All-Star and Golden State Warrior championship basketball player Draymond Green visited Israel on a four-day tour organized by Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF).

During the trip, Green met with Israel’s president, Reuven Rivlin, in Jerusalem. He presented Rivlin with a Warriors jersey.

“It’s not everyday you get to meet an All-Star! I hope this will be only your first visit to Israel, come back and visit us soon,” Rivlin tweeted.

Green also visited the base of an Israel Border Police counter-terrorism unit, Yamam. He played basketball with members of the squad and learned how they defend Israeli civilians. He presented the unit’s commander with a Golden State Warriors jersey bearing his number, 23.

FIDF’s Midwest Region executive director, Tamir Oppenheim, said Green “is such a role model for millions of people in the United States, and so we recognize how valuable his support is to FIDF and the State of Israel.”
