Palestinian Terrorist Stalked Victim Before West Bank Stabbing Attack

The Palestinian youth who carried out a stabbing attack in the West Bank on Wednesday stalked an Israeli couple before moving to attack the 36-year-old man, the Jerusalem Post reported Thursday.

In newly released security footage, Abada Abu Ras, a 17-year-old from the Palestinian town of Bir Nabal, can be seen following his victim before stabbing him off-camera. The video then shows Abu Ras fleeing from the pit-stop restaurant near Givat Ze’ev where he carried out his assault, as well as the civilians who chased after and later apprehended him. The video is embedded below.

Hillel Hagar, one of the men who pursued Abu Ras, was lightly wounded when the terrorist threw his knife while fleeing, Ynet reported.

“Immediately after the knifing, the suspect attempted to flee in the opposite direction, however witnesses of the incident pursued and tackled him to the ground,” said medical emergency volunteer Chaim Vingerton. “Security forces arrived at the scene of the crime and began to interrogate the suspect. I was very close to the incident, and I tried to provide medical care to the knifing victim.”

The victim was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem with numerous stab wounds to his upper body. He was described as being in serious condition.
