Seven Israelis Injured In Three Stabbing Attacks Today

Seven people were injured in three terror attacks by knife-wielding assailants in Israel today.

In the first attack, an Israeli man was stabbed and seriously injured in northern Jerusalem, The Times of Israel reported.

Police said the attacker, a 19-year-old Palestinian from East Jerusalem, was “neutralized” within minutes. He was unharmed and was being questioned by police. Initial reports, corrected by police, had said he was 15.

The terror attack took place just after noon at the light rail stop near the Israel Police’s national headquarters close to Ammunition Hill.

The victim, an Israeli citizen, was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem with the knife still lodged in his neck. Doctors rushed him into emergency surgery. Later the hospital said he was in stable condition.

A second man was lightly injured as he attempted to stop the attacker from escaping.

In the second attack, an assailant stabbed a female soldier and attempted to take her gun, the Times reported.

Initial reports said the stabber attacked the soldier, wounding her in the head, and then made a failed attempt to seize her gun. As he fled the assailant attacked the four others. …

A group of soldiers from an air force anti-aircraft unit, who were passing by in a car on their way to a meeting at the army headquarters, saw the attack in progress and sprang from the vehicle to engage the terrorist.

One of the soldiers opened fire at the fleeing attacker, killing him further down the road.

The soldier’s mother witnessed the attack and said that her daughter prevented the terrorist from grabbing her gun by falling on top of it. The mother called her daughter “brave,” and said, “It’s a miracle from heaven, I thank God, that she emerged from this alive.”

The soldier and three others were taken to the hospital, although two of them were later released.

In a third attack, an Israeli man was stabbed and seriously injured near Kiryat Arba in the West Bank, the Times reported:

Magen David Adom paramedics believed the man was stabbed in Hebron, but managed to make his way to the nearby settlement of Kiryat Arba on his own.

The 25-year-old Jewish victim was in serious condition and was taken to Jerusalem for treatment. Magen David Adom paramedics said they were fighting to save the victim’s life in the ambulance en route to Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek hospital.

The attacker fled the scene into Hebron; the IDF is conducting a manhunt for the suspect. Although shots have been reported, the IDF has not captured the suspect.

An IDF soldier was lightly injured when struck by rocks near Neve Tzuf in the West Bank.

Three more Israelis were injured in three separate terror attacks yesterday.

An incident yesterday when a Palestinian driver drove his car into a checkpoint has been reclassified from a terror attack to a traffic accident.
