Hamas to Hold Military Training Camps for Teenagers – Again

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, a paramilitary group run by the terrorist organization Hamas, announced the opening of military youth camps throughout the Gaza Strip under the name “Pioneers of Independence.”

The Al-Qassam Brigades’ Twitter account issued a statement (Arabic link) declaring that the camps are designated for youth aged 15-21. The camps will be held January 20-27 between the hours of 12:30 and 5:00 PM.

According to Hamas, the training in the camps will include acquiring military skills, using live ammunition, hearing sermons, and completing civil defense and first aid courses.

Registration for the training camp can be done in all of Gaza’s mosques and in the training facilities of Al-Qassam Brigades, the statement said.

Hamas has run the “Pioneers of Liberation” camps two previous years.

Another Iran-backed terrorist group, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, also runs similar military training for children.

Among the classic and repeated Hamas slogans is the group’s fighters’ declaration that that they “love death” more than their declared Israeli enemies “love life.” The above announcement is another example of how the Iran-backed terror organization brainwashes Palestinian children with their ideology.

Camps of this sort have been in existence for more than a decade. Palestinian deployment of child soldiers has complicated efforts by human rights groups to evaluate the nature and effects of fighting waged against Israel. Human rights groups have been criticized for calculating Palestinian casualties by treating the deaths of Palestinians under the age of 18 as children, despite Hamas’s open training of teenagers for combat and the group’s boasts that it uses children as jihadists.
