Netanyahu Condemns Killing of Arab Teen, Calls for Police to Work “Quickly”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced the murder of 16-year-old Muhammed Abu Khdeir yesterday, calling for an investigation.

A statement released by the Prime Minister’s office said:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, today spoke with Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch and asked that law-enforcement elements work as quickly as possible in order to investigate who is behind the reprehensible murder and what the motive was. The Prime Minister calls on all sides not to take the law into their own hands and noted that Israel is a nation of laws and everyone must act according to the law.

Netanyahu was not alone, as politicians across the spectrum condemned the killing.
