The Tel Aviv City Hall lit up with the colors of the Union Jack on Wednesday in an act of solidarity with London, which was struck by a terror attack that left three people dead and 40 injured earlier in the day.

“Israel expresses its deep shock at the terror attack in London today and its solidarity with the victims and with the people and government of Great Britain. Terror is terror wherever it occurs and we will fight it relentlessly,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely.
Prime Minister Benjamain Netanyahu, who also serves as Israel’s foreign minister, was returning from an official trip to China at the time.
Our thoughts are with the people of #London. Terror is a threat to us all and we must stand united against it. @IsraelinUK @ukinisrael

A news agency affiliated with the Islamic State claimed that the attacker, who drove his car into a crowd of passersby before exiting the vehicle and stabbing a policeman, was “a soldier” of the terror group.
It isn’t unusual for Tel Aviv’s City Hall to adjust its lighting to express solidarity following a terror attack. After a massacre last year at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, the building was lit up in the colors of the rainbow LGBT pride flag.
